How To Know Europe Egg Mark

Eggs are graded by quality grades A and B. For retail sale only fresh Class A eggs are intended. Class B eggs are intended for industrial processing. Each egg purchased at the store contains a code adhering to Decree No. 264/2003 Coll. This code consists of four parts:
1) Breeding of hens
0 – eggs from organic farming – objects with enclosures, plus organic feeding
1 – free range eggs – objects with outdoor enclosures
2 – indoor eggs – laying hens (on litter)
3 – hens in cages where for each hen the space is slightly larger than A4 paper size
2) Origin of eggsLagging of eggs
CZ – CZ
DE – Germany
PL – poland
LT – Lithuania
NL – The Netherlands

3) Farm registration number (or last four digits of the farm registration number)
4) Egg weight
S = small – up to 53 g
M = middle – 53-63 g
L = large – 63-73 g
XL = extra large – over 73 grams
E.g. ie the code on the egg: 3CZ 1234 M indicates that our model egg is from a caged hen, comes from the Czech Republic and should weigh between 53 and 63 g. Breeding number is fictitious, the real one can be found on the website of the State Veterinary Administration of the Czech Republic (www.svscr.cz)

In addition, the consumer packaging of eggs must bear the date of minimum durability, recommendations for keeping eggs cool, verbal expression of laying hens, explanation of the producer code, number of the packing center with a state mark (however, the packing center does not indicate the origin of eggs) on a specific egg).
The decree further provides that Class A eggs are to be kept at a non-volatile ambient temperature of between 5 and 18 ° C and that fresh eggs may be sold no later than 7 days before the date of minimum durability.
